    ABOUT US

A veil of mystery still covers the culture of the countries in Middle East and Northern Africa. Maybe that’s the reason why it is so fascinating to lift slowly this veil of secrecy and to discover the way of life of local people with its many differences and various habits.

Not earlier than after many years of deep study of Orient we decided to open first belly dance classes in Pilsner in 1998. We started to reveal the beauty of belly dance to the local dance-wishing women.

The increasing number of enthusiastic and satisfied belly dance "students" inspired us to found a dance school, which would arch over all our activites. So the Centrum Orientálního Tance (COT) – The Oriental Dance Center was found in 2001. The classes were better coordinated and the satisfaction of our dancers, quality service and professionalism became the main pillars of our school.

Since that we have broaden our classes around the Czech Republic to many other cities and villages. You can belly dance in Pilsner, in Prague, Brno, Ostrava etc. Click to an up-to-date list of locations (in Czech only)

There is the main oasis of our school in Prague (Luzicka str. No 9) and in Pilsner (Klatovska str. No 28), where we tried to create a small oriental kingdom. Therefore we shifted the majority of administration somewhere else – to the Prague residence of Allstar Group s.r.o. company, which specializes in SW and HW. With their kind help we fulfill all your secret "informational" wishes :-) When calling to us, the phrase "Centrum Orientalniho Tance" is the "sesame-opener". After pronouncing it, you will be connected to a pleasant voice of a "COT-lady" as quickly as the lightning.

To sum up – let’s try it. Let’s relax, meet new friends and learn something new. Let your instructor to take you (virtually at least) far away into flavoured oriental sukk (market place), to colorful cities and yellow dessert. Join us and taste the joy of movement and healing power of belly dance. Your enthusiasm and satisfaction will be our reward.
    THE MISS ORIENT CONTEST

The main motto and aim of this contest is to demonstrate that every woman is beautiful regardless of her weight and measurements (vital statistics) and that the most important thing in this contest (and in life as well) is the spirit of her dance, charisma, life optimism and a smile on the face.
Miss Orient is the first and so far the only contest in the field of oriental dance in the Czech Republic. It consists of three regional rounds. Ten dancers from each then advance into the Semifinal (30 dancers) and the best 10 dancers compete for the Miss Orient title in the gala Final evening.
The first year of this contest (2005) was very successful. There were almost 200 dancers from the whole republic. In the Final in November 2005 many famous Czech celebrities (politicians, artists etc.) took part (e.g. the Prime minister’s wife). Moreover, the famous German dancer Zahra accepted our invitation to be a member of the jury.
Second year (2006), there are again almost 200 contestants from the Czech and also the Slovak Republic. The great Final held in November was spectacular, Mr. Ujwal M. Bhole from India and Malika from France very honor members of the galaevening.

In 2007, the contests goes on. It gaines its respect among boht professionals as well as public. Each contest evenings are much frequented. The honor guest of the Final in November 2007 is Bozenka (USA).
